Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Prices in the lumber market continued to climb last week, although increases were less dramatic than in recent weeks. The mills had more of a variety of products in the market allowing for a fair amount of back-to-back business with them. The eastern mills were also willing to take orders for extended delivery on items they did not have now but would have later. Shipments from them were two weeks, regardless of having material on the ground ready to ship. The lack of truckers there and at various reloads kept deliveries backed up, with some lanes more problematic than others.
