Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

It was a very busy start to the week in the lumber market yesterday, despite the eastern mills not having very much new to offer. Demand was strong, whether it be for material delivering within two weeks or for later next month. Buyers though were conservative with their purchases, committing to some, but not too much. Last year’s historic run up in prices and the dramatic sell off are memories many do not want to experience again. Late shipping material was commonplace. Anxious retailers dealt with several delays, avoiding buying extra product if possible.
