There was more resistance from buyers in the lumber market yesterday. Higher prices and the general lack of available items in the market to sell dampened the volume of orders transacted. Demand was still vibrant, but activity was less harried. There were orders by various clients to locking up lumber commitments for future deliveries. There was also much attention focused on getting orders delivered from the mills and shipped from the reloads. This week’s cold weather here in the northeast has helped to slow down the hectic pace retailers have experienced lately.
