Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Prices continued to appreciate in the lumber market last week, with more movement earlier than later in the week. Resistance to paying the higher numbers, along with limited mill supply, slowed sales on Friday. There was also more concern and anxiety of getting in what was on order instead of thinking of buying more. The conflict with this was that product was moving more quickly through the lumberyards than was anticipated, creating a pressing need to replenish sooner than later. Distributors faced many of the same problems as the retailers, along with ongoing logistical nightmares.
