There was a lot of tire kicking and chasing late orders in the lumber market yesterday. There was some business done on quick shipping wood from the reloads but little with the mills, mainly because they could not ship quick enough or offers were too cheap for them to accept. Efforts were certainly made by traders, many which turned into rejections, either by the mills or from clients. Activity was strong nonetheless in the marketplace, demonstrating an undercurrent of demand needing or wanting to get fulfilled.

Bill,
Is the “Freedom Convoy” to "Ottawa having any impact on shipping? I’m hearing it’s 100 miles long and expected to be150,000 participants. Lots off social media blended in. It’s difficult to know the truth.

Matt,
I have not heard much as far as impact. The mills have not echoed delays in conversations late last week but that may be different as we start the new week!

We’re struggling to source capacity in canada with a lot of trucks are tied up in the convoy. For the trucks we can find, we’re hearing very elevated rates.

Does the convoy have an ending destination?

heard D.C. but nothing substantiated.

That’ll be hard if none of the trucks can cross the border
