Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

More lumber and lower asking prices were the highlights of the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Mill sales were lite. There were some common threads observed between retailers and distributors. Their inventories are generally low. Both need material. Both are trying to be patient. Both do not have excess inventory they need to move off first. Both are ready and can buy at a moment’s notice. The holdup is the uncertainty of prices. Another is the ongoing logistical issues affecting shipments and delaying many deliveries.
