Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

It was a stellar week of sales in the eastern spruce lumber market last week. The lack of available lumber from the eastern mills kept a lid on business Friday but the rest of the week more than made up for it. Low prices to start the week combined with strong demand gave the market the spark needed and the momentum to last throughout the week. Prices rebounded resoundingly from the previous week’s dramatic downturn. Ongoing logistical issues for the eastern mills and distributors also played a major role in limiting how much could be sold and what could be shipped.
