Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Improved takeaway for retailers along with continued buying from manufacturers made it a stellar week for sales in the eastern spruce lumber market last week. The lack of offerings from the mills along with the steady demand kept prices moving higher. Buyers filled in their needs with quick shipping product from the reloads but were cautious about buying too far ahead, even though their sales might dictate otherwise. Some eastern mills, due to shipping constraints, teased this mentality by offering high demand items for delivery in late March and early April.
