Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

It was a quieter sales day in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday, as many enjoyed the President’s Day holiday. Higher asking prices by eastern mills along with extended lead times to get materials offered, discouraged buyers, and muted transactions. Demand was still apparent in the marketplace, but clients were not jumping on the first things being shown. They were more interested in getting delivery on the items they had on order or chasing after late shipping trucks due to them. Many have planned ahead but several deliveries were still running later than expected.
