Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

The volume of orders picked up in the eastern spruce market yesterday. Buyers were more confident on committing to having some product on order than none at all, bolstering sales for the mills. Several transactions were for delivery late March and into early April. Weary of the lack of product availability, climbing prices and ongoing logistical issues on getting material, motivated buyers. Reliance on distributors for quick fill in has also become more problematic as the reloads lack many of the items clients need.

Bill,

As a distributor, is your inventory more bought and undelivered or not bought?

Matt, more bought and undelivered! Buying quick wood if presented with.

I have a long list of prompt euro lumber ready to ship . It’s not cheap but it’s available. The market is like a giant slinky that a 5 year old has played with and just needs to be untangled .
