Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Overall sales were slower last week in the eastern spruce lumber market. Prices though continued to climb as the lack of available product from the eastern mills had buyers paying higher to get the items they needed. It was apparent that the higher prices rose, the more fearful and cautious buyers were getting. Shipping order files for the mills were late March and early April. Ongoing logistical problems prevented eastern mills from shipping product any sooner. Filling in from the reloads was problematic, as they lacked many of the items sought after.
