Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Activity heated up in the lumber market yesterday. The day started with news that the CP rail strike was over, which was a relief to many. The eastern mills took to the offense by displaying a larger array of products to offer. Shipments varied depending on where material was being delivered, although the mills remained conservative with the delivery times they would commit to. Demand and inquiry were strong, but commitments and orders lagged. Clients pressured buyers for lower pricing with varied success but made little headway to getting material any faster.
