Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Good Morning,

Aggressive selling was commonplace in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Mills, wholesalers, and distributors all did their best to snag whatever orders that could be had. Asking prices were a starting point to where business was transacted. Offers were accepted, negotiated, or simply rejected. Regardless, the negative tone to the market kept buyers away and the volume of orders low. One common thread seen though; retailers remained busy with a steady flow of product through their yards. Their challenges being, trying to manage inventories and keeping purchases to a minimum.
