Some mills were priced aggressively to entice business in the eastern spruce lumber market to start the new week. Others used published print numbers as a starting point, hoping buyers would come to them with offers. Both lacked one very important component, quick shipment. Cheaper mill offerings were expected but without the needed delivery, it was difficult to get clients to buy. Most eastern mill shipments were for the first and second week of May with few exceptions. For anything sooner, the reloads were the more reliable sources.
