Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

It was another busy day in the lumber market yesterday. Wholesalers scrambled to cover the orders they had while buying a little extra to have something to sell. The eastern mills sold early and often with many either going off the market or raising prices throughout the day. Prices ended their current slide with some items bumping up slightly. Truck deliveries from the eastern mills are for the first two weeks of May but rail shipments extend much farther, due to a lack of equipment. The mills continued a conservative approach to selling, not overcommitting as to when they could ship and deliver.
