Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

It was difficult to keep up with the craziness in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. The volume of orders was healthy, but it was all the other parts to the market that made it the day it was. Traders were going in all directions, from chasing late orders or dealing with dropped loads to answering client constant demands. Buyers were busy with the mills sourcing product, finding some and missing out on others. One of the positive aspects to the market was that the mills did have product to sell. You just had to be patient to get it. Not planning or anticipating turned to loss and much frustration.
