Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Mixed signals continued to emanate from the lumber market yesterday, confusing, and frustrating many. Prices varied widely from mill to mill, item to item, all lower with every phone call or email. Yet many of the needed products were unavailable or required several weeks to get. Reload inventories were taxed, unable to fill many client’s needs. Distributors scrambled to get the materials on order in but were reluctant to buy more as the instability of prices overshadowed the market. Sales suffered, but not due to a lack of activity or energy, but rather from a lack of confidence and commitment.
