Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Activity picked up in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. The mills were more apt and willing to trade on price, although their two-to-three-week shipment schedules did limit their sales. Dealers bought selectively, knowing that quick fill in from the reloads were hit and miss on several items. Although many dealers continued to have steady takeaway, they also felt that their overall activity had slowed up a bit. Many also pointed to having solid business and commitments ahead, making it important to staying top of mind and to plan accordingly.
