Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

It was difficult to pinpoint where prices were at any given time on any given item in the lumber market yesterday. Some mills were more aggressive than others, targeting specific items they wanted to sell, at numbers vastly different than what other mills were asking. The deals were short lived and item specific, but it influenced mindsets and enhanced the pessimistic cloud that hung over the market. Overall transactions were down for the day as many lacked the confidence to buy, although busy dealers and distributors have intentions to do so.
