Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Last Friday’s published print prices in the lumber market were lower than many expected, sending buyers to the sidelines. It made for a quieter day of sales to end the week. Uncertainty took over mindsets although demand continued strong, and lumber was not getting delivered any quicker. One common problem experienced throughout last week was the constant delays, dropped loads and intended shipments from eastern mills and various reloads that did not happen. Dealers struggled to find quick delivery of items they needed. Many had looked for improvement on logistics but saw very little.
