Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

The lack of traders actively involved in the lumber market this week, primarily due to the Montreal Wood Convention, was truly felt as overall transactions were down with yesterday being no exception. Granted lowering prices and buying practices were the main reasons for the lack of sales but not having as many players involved had its impact. It is known that inventories are low in many places, logistical problems continue on several fronts and buyers are buying only what is needed, but it would not take much to quickly change the landscape of the market or buying philosophies. Stay vigilant!
