Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

There was more buyer participation in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. This led to robust activity and a better sales day for a variety of entities. Buyers were more decisive, knowing what they wanted and putting pressure on mills and distributors to come through with the goods. Prices were lower but the difference being they reached levels that enticed buying, something the market had not seen recently. It was not a wholesale rally but there was growing confidence that a bottoming of prices and stability was nearing.
