Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

There was no rhyme or reason to the prices bantered around in the lumber market yesterday. The differences between distributors, wholesalers, and retailers confused many. Trying to figure market numbers on any given item was anyone’s guess and subject to change. The mills listened and were willing to trade but not to the extreme some sought. If time allowed, new purchases were put on hold, at least to wait out the current drama and to see where prices settle. They have fallen more than many had expected. Mill break even points are challenged and gaining attention.
