Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

There was much better activity and more energy in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Prices were down but there were more noes than yesses on counters with the mills, especially on the steeper ones. There seem to be more common ground between the mills and clients. One notable difference this week is compromise, where there was little to none previously. The stronger demand seen, exemplified a growing confidence and willingness by clients to buy. For the moment, the mills have ample supply but a continuation of yesterday’s rate of sales could change the have to had!
