Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Yesterday started a little quieter than expected in the lumber market, but activity perked up as the day progressed. Demand was good early and the thought of a significant follow through from last week’s late surge of business was prevalent on traders’ mindsets. It took some time for buyers to study what the mills had to offer, but as the day continued confidence grew and transactions increased, ending the day with a fair number of orders for many concerns. Mill asking prices were also slightly higher to start the week causing hesitation before purchases were made.
