Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Demand and activity were steady in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. With the increased business the eastern mills had last week, many of them had less to offer in the market to start the new week. This initiated some scrambling by clients who had upcoming needs to fulfill. The mills still had a fair supply of lumber to sell, providing you had the patience to wait for it. Many eastern mills had shipping order files well into July. Prices were off their lows and increasing on the higher grades but were trying to find reasonable trading levels on the lower grades.
