Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Business activity in the lumber market did not let up prior to our long holiday weekend. Clients covered needs as best as possible although mill options were limited, especially from the eastern Canadian mills that are taking down time for 2-3 weeks starting the last week of July. Prices were up during the week with some items moving more higher than others. The difference with this current rally is that price increases are not as dramatic as previously experienced. Some eastern Canadian mills were competitively quoting product for delivery after they return in early August, which for some may be advantageous.
