Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Activity started slowly in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Early in the day the market seemed lethargic and a feeling that it had lost some of its oomph pervaded mentalities, but as demand ramped up and orders flowed these sentiments quickly dissipated. Transactions rapidly outpaced the day’s previous volume. Prices remained stable with upward pressure on some items. There were limited and selective offerings from the eastern mills with shipments later this month and into August. For anything quicker you were dependent on the reloads.
