Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Activity in the lumber market was strong to start and continued steady throughout yesterday. Demand focused on material that could ship in the next couple of weeks by whatever means possible. Stable pricing also helped generate those orders transacted in the market. The eastern mills and reloads that had the products needed and that could deliver them in a timely manner benefitted the most. Prices on the higher grades were stable with little movement from last week while mill accumulations on the lower grades had them looking to find numbers to trade at.

companies are busy and product is flowing- for the moment-a good mix of supply and demand keeping things stable- upcoming summer shutdowns are adding to the stability.
