Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Activity and sales did not let up in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Prices on most items were stable to up slightly as the eastern mills focused on the selective items they had available to sell. Shipments from them varied from two weeks to as far out as a month. Clients maintained pressure on the mills to getting orders owed to them shipped. Manufacturers continued to bolster their inventories, having the business ahead to justify purchases. Retailers, also very busy, were more reserved, preferring to keep inventories lean and manageable.
