There seemed to be more doubt and apprehension among clients in the lumber market yesterday. A cloud of uncertainty hung over the market keeping decision makers on the sidelines. It kept the volume of orders low to start the last week of the month. The eastern mills found it difficult to generate interest in what they had to sell. Demand was not as robust as it has been the last few weeks. With the start of annual summer shutdowns, there were fewer eastern mills with quick delivering lumber allowing distributors to highlight their wares and have an impact.
