Although sales and new orders ticked up yesterday, the eastern spruce lumber market seemed to be lacking the energy and pizzazz to move to another level. Demand and activity were solid, but motivation and inspiration seemed to be lacking, especially as the day wore on. The eastern mills also ran into resistance on additional sales. Clients did not seem as excited as they had been. A sense of urgency was missing. Prices maintained themselves but some items found lingering conversations as minor accumulations became evident and in focus.
Is this lack of energy and pizzazz common for this time of summer?

vacations are prominent especially prior to schools starting yet more of a factor has been the negativity prevalent about the economy and the potential of what may occur that is keeping energy levels low
