Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

A lack of orders to the mills put pressure on prices on many items in the eastern spruce lumber market last week. Production outpaced demand keeping buyers at bay. There was solid activity but not enough to spark a round of buying and stabilize the market. The eastern mills worked off what remaining order files they had with most still able to deliver the first week of September, if not sooner. Retailers remained busy but were not overly concerned that they could not find and get the products when needed.
