Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

The eastern spruce lumber market took its time to muster energy and enthusiasm yesterday. Once started, orders flowed but at a slower pace than seen last week and what many were hoping for. There was hesitation and second guessing by dealers but not enough to thwart a respectable sales day for traders. The mills saw some action, but they were not too anxious to lower their prices to drive sales. Distributors though were more aggressive in taking business on selective items, especially when there was inventory on hand to back it up.
