Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

It was another difficult day procuring orders in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. The mills tried to find sales without having to lower prices too much to do so. Distributors pushed their agendas, predicating sales based on the inventories they had on the ground. Wholesalers worked to entice clients by trying to outguess the mills and what they would quote or take for offers. Dealers felt the pressure from all sectors and quietly stayed away from the market, content to watch prices erode. Traders looked for the spark that would reenergize the market.
