Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Activity took its time to ramp up in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. The afternoon was far busier than the morning. Apathy seemed to run rampant early on, but that all changed as demand kicked in and orders flowed. It was encouraging to see, and it gave traders confidence that the market was not dead after all. The eastern mills had product to sell and had adjusted their prices down to be in sync with published numbers. They were not overly anxious to lower prices further and resisted counters to that effect.
