Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Prices were all over the spectrum, varying widely in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. There seemed no rhyme or reason to it all. It was hard to gauge whether it was mill inspired, inventory generated, or simply just cheap numbers being thrown about to get orders. Some mills though did come to the market to sell, pushed by accumulations they had. They took some offers on them, but others were just too low to accept or justify. One notable difference in the market was that there were buyers willing to speculate, something it has lacked for quite some time.
