Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective!

Activity and sales were lighter in the eastern spruce lumber market to end last week. There was some business transacted but it was not as robust as many traders and mills had hoped for. The stronger action and demand that encompassed the market on Thursday, which had gotten confidence levels up, petered out on Friday. Clients were not swayed to buy more and were content with what they had bought during the week. Eastern mills remained aggressive on the items they did have for sale. Many Canadian mills are off today or short staffed as they enjoy their Thanksgiving!
