Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

There were some last-minute transactions in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday ahead of lumbermills, wholesalers and other entities across North America converging on Phoenix, AZ for the annual NAWLA convention which begins today. Sales on stud products continued to be lethargic with supply outpacing demand. Things are different though on random dimension products 2x6 and wider where the eastern mills have struggled to keep up with demand, keeping prices on an upward trend. It is wonderful to be back in the market, healthy, after a three-week hiatus!
