Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

There was a little more interest and a slight increase in sales in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Demand was up although much less than what traders have been used to seeing in recent weeks. The eastern mills lowered prices a bit to entice sales but did not see much more as a result. For the clients on the receiving end, it was more a question of need than of getting something slightly lower than what they may have recently paid. Production is running ahead of current demand, but prices are at levels that challenge mill returns, creating quite a quandary for them.

Hello @william_giguere we missed you! Welcome back! You did not go to the NAWLA Trader’s Market? There was quite a big Sherwood contingency there … The Block Party the first night had an “open bar” – can you envision the implications of that set up on your Sherwood team? toward the end of that reception … :rofl:
