Even though last week was one of the quieter weeks of sales and activity in the eastern spruce lumber market, Friday showed some life and energy to end the week. There was renewed demand especially on mixed truckloads from various sources looking to fill in depleted inventories. Supply was strong from the eastern mills giving clients various choices to shop around with. Prices were flat with the mills allowing only minor concessions. The mills were more focused on selling the higher priced items they had to improve whatever mill return they could garner.
