The eastern spruce lumber market returned to some sort of normalcy yesterday. Strong demand led to improved sales and orders. It was mostly of the fill in variety but nonetheless activity was very good. Excitement was high in the market bolstering confidence. Eastern mills had a variety of product to serve up. They also kept to their asking prices, knowing that they were at the lower range of profitability. Buying patterns did not change, wanting to keep inventories in check. What did was the number of entities in the market all needing some sort of material.
