The eastern spruce lumber market continued to show renewed energy yesterday. The eastern mills were busy earlier in the day, selling at or near their asking prices. Demand was steady throughout the day propelling activity and resulting in a favorable day of transactions. There also seemed to be a growing belief among buyers that downside risk of prices was minimal. Granted that negativity still overshadowed the market but with clients remaining busy and their takeaway of product ongoing that the need for material would keep activity and sales steady.
