Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Buyers seemed more confident in buying product in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. They gravitated to the everyday items such as studs and 2x4 random, which were still somewhat negotiable with the mills. Activity and sales improved over the previous day. The added business to the mills decreased their availabilities for the balance of this year and increased reliance on distributor’s reloads for material. Clients continued to be busy, seeing a steady flow of material through their yards, precipitating replenishment sooner than later.
