Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Demand and activity were strong in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday, but sales lagged the previous days’ tallies. The market was plagued by cheap quotes, primarily on some 2x4 items, that the mills and wholesalers had extra of and wanted orders for. The prices on these items were in flux, making it difficult for traders to compete for orders. This also added to the level of frustration many experienced during the day. There were other items though, such as in the wider widths, that were much more difficult to source, keeping their prices on more stable ground.
