Demand weakened in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Activity though was strong as traders did their best to lure, entice or convince their clients to buy. The lack of offerings also hampered efforts as the eastern mills had only selective items, they could sell that would deliver this year, many of which drew little interest from clients. The products that were in demand were difficult to source and were already up in price. Regardless clients were not interested in chasing after them and paying higher, even though many prices were at their lowest point since 2020.
