Yesterday’s activity produced the best day of the week of sales in the eastern spruce lumber market. It was still a grind for traders but being positive in the face of much negativity proved to be the differentiator. Sticking with the known factors in the market of low prices and limited mill availability helped procure the orders. Selling for January delivery was also a strong point, helped by a willingness by the mills to do so. Retailers and manufacturers showed a growing interest to buying for then, enabling more positivity in the market then what has been seen lately.
