Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Demand slackened last Friday making it a quieter end to the week in the eastern spruce lumber market. Fill in orders from the reload were the bulk of the orders transacted. With little they could deliver this year the mills concentrated on trying to get orders to start the new year. Asking prices correlated to publish numbers with very little variance. With prices as low as they are, there was no urgency for them to drop their numbers further. The eastern mills will be shut down for the Christmas break later this week for two to three weeks with limited deliveries during this timeframe.
