Activity was quiet ending the year in the eastern spruce lumber market last Friday. Most were away enjoying the remaining days of vacation before the New Year begins trading today. Most eastern mills are back on production with some taking an extra week of downtime. Prices on many items are at their lowest point they have been in several months. Mill order files are sporadic depending on the item. Shipping files for the mills are next week also dependent on the item. Quicker material will be reliant on distributor’s reloads at a slight premium to current prices.
