It was a lively start to the new week and the New Year in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. It was no surprise that with many back from vacation that business would be vigorous. Buyers were kept busy all day sourcing inquiry and gauging where prices were. With much effort many gems were uncovered that clients gravitated to and bought. The question is whether the robust activity will continue after yesterday’s initial push. Prices on many items are at the lowest they have been in the last couple of years giving credence for more potential buying ahead.
